Liquity USD (LUSD) is a stablecoin pegged to the value of the USD. It is primarily used for repaying loans on the Liquity protocol. LUSD can be exchanged for the underlying collateral at its full value. To obtain a loan, users need to create a Trove and deposit a specified amount of Ethereum (ETH) as collateral. They can then borrow LUSD up to 110% of the value of their collateral. The Liquity protocol is a decentralized system that offers interest-free loans backed by Ether collateral. To ensure the safety of the loans, Liquity has established a Stability Pool which holds LUSD, and borrowers serve as guarantors for any remaining debt. Currently, the total value locked (TVL) on the protocol exceeds $642 million.
