Nexus is a decentralized cryptocurrency project that aims to create a world driven by innovative and responsible values, where technology is widely accessible and connection is ubiquitous. Unlike many other cryptocurrencies, Nexus was not created through an initial coin offering (ICO) or premine. The platform is designed to simplify people's lives, empower communities, and streamline businesses.
The introduction of the Tritium Protocol in late 2019 marked the beginning of a series of major upgrades (Tritium, Amine, & Obsidian) for Nexus. It is built on a seven-layered software stack that enables a register-based process virtual machine, functioning as a powerful decentralized application (DApp) and contract platform that adds value to various industries.
Nexus provides an array of industry-specific JSON-based APIs, including encrypted communication, digital identifiers, supply chain management, asset management, cryptography, and tokenization. It utilizes post-quantum signature schemes called FALCON, along with automated key management functions through a technology called "Signature Chains". This technology solves key management issues by allowing users to access their accounts using a username, password, and PIN.
Furthermore, Nexus is actively developing additional technologies such as a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) for governance, Safenet (a hack-resistant operating system), and a decentralized satellite and mesh network. These technologies are interconnected through a multi-dimensional chaining structure that incorporates sharding, low latency transaction finality, and truly decentralized multi-layer consensus.
