This auction drew significant attention and resulted in a competitive bidding war, as there are only 13 original physical copies of the U.S. Constitution in existence. Although the group successfully raised over $40 million in ETH, they were ultimately outbid by Ken Griffin, a billionaire hedge fund manager and CEO of Citadel. Due to this unsuccessful attempt to acquire one of the most valuable and renowned documents in U.S. history, Constitution DAO announced its dissolution. All donations made to the organization will be refunded.
