CardWallet (CW) is a modern, non-custodial wallet designed specifically for Cardano, offering convenient FIAT on/off-ramp services. The project was initiated in early 2021, aiming to revolutionize the crypto market by providing users with exceptional functionality and utility. With a range of useful tools such as storage, token exchange, trading, staking, delegation, and liquidity mining, CardWallet offers a comprehensive suite of features for Cardano users, including full decentralized finance (DeFi) capabilities.
Originally developed for the Cardano ecosystem, CardWallet is also designed to support other protocols, blockchains, and native tokens. The developers identified several industry problems, including the lack of understanding of DeFi concepts among users, high barriers to entry into the crypto world, and inconvenient user experience and interface. In response, CardWallet's mission is to create a user-friendly and decentralized wallet with a clear interface and essential functions, simplifying concepts like decentralized exchanges (DEX), staking, and yield optimization.
CardWallet ensures that users have complete control of their assets, allowing them to securely send, store, and receive both cryptocurrencies and fiat currencies for transactions. Alongside crypto assets, the wallet also supports Visa, MasterCard, and Apple Pay. The mobile application of CardWallet is available on both Google Play Store and Apple's App Store, and the team is actively working on a web3 implementation for the emerging Cardano ecosystem. With support for over 30 fiat currencies and 5 languages, CardWallet aims to become a leading DeFi wallet for sending, receiving, and storing cryptocurrencies.
CardWallet conducted its initial decentralized offering (IDO) through the OccamRazer platform, taking place from August 16 to 18, 2021.
