Terra is a cryptocurrency platform that utilizes stablecoins pegged to traditional fiat currencies to facilitate secure and reliable global payment systems. The platform also changed the names of its stablecoins to Terra Classic stablecoins (USTC, KRTC, EUTC). It has been suggested that the inclusion of the term "classic" in the rebranding is reminiscent of the Ethereum/Ethereum Classic split in 2017. The CEO of Terra, Do Kwon, likened the UST collapse in 2022 to the Ethereum's DAO hack in 2017.
